What Is Preventative Dentistry and Why Is It Important?
Artaza Dental DDS Blog
Preventative dentistry is the most important part of what we do. This is because preventative dentistry is what keeps your teeth and gums healthy year in and year out. With regular visits for cleaning and x-rays, we can help you stay on top of your dental health. Our priority for all our Katy patients is to ensure you are receiving the highest quality dental care possible. However, even with great dental health, life happens, and we are here to help keep your smile beautiful through it all.
WHAT DOES PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY MEAN
Preventative dentistry is all the things we do to ensure your teeth stay in the best possible shape. This includes cleanings and regular x-rays, which help us keep an eye on the state of your teeth. The goal of preventative dentistry is just what it sounds like, to avoid needing procedures such as fillings or root canals, and ensuring strong, healthy teeth. In combination with regular visits for cleaning and x-rays, we will be able to help all our patients ensure that their at-home dental hygiene routine is working well.
WHAT PREVENTATIVE DENTISTRY CAN PATIENTS DO AT HOME
At each appointment, our team will assess your overall dental health, and make suggestions if needed as to how it can be improved. We do this because we care about our patients health, and want to help everyone achieve their perfect smile. We recommend that all our patients brush at least two times daily, or after each meal if possible. It is also essential to floss every day, preferably each time you brush. Utilizing an antiseptic mouthwash in the morning, and especially at night, can help kill the bacteria that leads to tooth decay and cavities. All of these tips, combined with regular visits to our Katy dental office, help ensure you keep your teeth health and strong this year, and every year.
